Getting to
Golden Horn Lodge
One of the most unique aspects of Golden Horn Lodge is how remote it is. There are no roads in and out of the area. The only way to reach this beautiful location is by seaplane. Your adventure begins in Dillingham, Alaska where you’ll board a private seaplane for a breathtaking journey to the lodge. During your flight, you’ll pass over the region’s striking landscape, glimpsing mountain peaks, emerald forests, and vast stretches of tundra.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is the nearest major airport?Dillingham Airport. This is where you’ll fly into. You’ll be picked up at the airport by Willis and brought to the lodge via seaplane.
-
What will the weather be like?Summertime weather in southwestern Alaska averages highs in the low 60s and lows in the high 40s. In July and August, expect about a 30% chance of rain on any given day. Summer days are long, with 16-18 hours of sunlight depending on the day and the month.
-
What are the bugs like in Alaska? Most of the time, we don’t encounter many bugs, but we recommend bringing mosquito repellant just to be sure. It’s pretty effective at repelling them.
